The main UI of Fusion Bridge, including a shot with a point cloud generated.
A typical node setup in Fusion including the GeoToPoints node.
This is a free add-on and there is no pressure at all to pay, but if you'd like to support its future development, we'd be so grateful for your kindness. Donations are processed through our trusted payments platform, Square.
Fusion Bridge is a free (very much alpha) add-on for Blender that analyzes an FBX exported from DaVinci Resolve Fusion’s CameraTracker3D and converts geometry generated via the GeoToPoints node into empties. This exists because a native way to export the point cloud from Fusion does not currently exist.
All that’s needed is once you’ve solved a camera in Fusion, you attach the point cloud node to the input on the GeoToPoints node. That then attaches to your Merge3D and you export an FBX as usual. The only consideration is you need to click on the point cloud node and check the box next to “Make Renderable.”
Once inside Blender the add-on will appear in the sidebar with your other nodes. Load in the FBX file and enter the focal length Fusion determined for your shot. This can be found in the solve tab in the CameraTracker3D node. Then click “Process FBX.”
There is also an option to generate a mesh from a selection of empties.
Important: This add-on is very, very early in its development. It is at times a bit unstable. Make sure to limit the number of points you export from Fusion (which, generally speaking, is the goal anyway). You can export more, but it will just take a long time for it process. Blender will freeze while it replaces the geometry with empties. You can submit bug reports directly to us through the site, but you can also join us on our Discord server and chat about it directly.
